Building permit applications are available at the Town Office or click on the link to the left. These can be completed and turned in at any time to be reviewed by the code enforcement officer when he is in the office on Wednesdays.
If you are adding a driveway, please contact the road commissioner for an entrance permit (required) before applying for your building permit.  

Plumbing permits are available only from the Plumbing Inspector. 

​Building permits are required whenever a structure is constructed, demolished, added to, or moved. You must get your permit BEFORE you start work.  Building permits are required for mobile homes and double-wides as well. Mobile homes must meet minimum state guidelines  including ingress and egress windows and meet all fire codes. 

Many projects will also require that you get plumbing permits. Please contact the Plumbing inspector, Randy Hall, for details. 

Partial List of general building lot requirements & standards (does not include subdivision lots)

Minimum Lot Size:                           80,000 square feet (approximately 2 acres)
Minimum road frontage:                 135 feet
Minimum front (road) setback :    58 feet from center-line of road
Minimum side setback:                   15 feet from property line
Minimum rear setback:                   15 feet from property line

Minimum distance from well to septic:    100 feet

Shoreland zoning projects may require additional permitting please talk to the Code Enforcement Officer.
